Rev. Paul Sawm Lian Pau, founder of Agape Child Development Centre, has been living long with strong desire to nurture helpless children affectionately whenever he saw while he was travelling as an Evangelist throughout Myanmar.
He started his nurturing programme in May 1995 with (9) helpless children in Hlaing township, Yangon after he had married in 1990 to teacher Daw. Dim Neih Lun who too has strong desire to nurture the helpless children.
In 2000 their baby girl died within hours after birth. Since that time,they decided to devote their lives to nurture the helpless children as if their own sons and daughters. By the helped of sailor’s family we could purchased the land, with expectation for the long run existence of their nurturing programme, they sold out their apartment in Yangon, then bought a land plot in Hlegu and moved there in 2001. In 2005, Social Welfare Department of the Government recognized it.
From 1995 to 2008 they had nurtured (120) and children. Among them (12) children passed matriculation examination and they are now attending universities and professional training schools.

It was to take boast and to be happy that no child was dead because of health or any other reasons during the period of 1995 to 2011.
It is officially registered. It is run by the monthly or occasionally donations of friends from abroad and inland and at the same time as the main goal of the House is to stand self-support, it is run also by growing paddy, bean, vegetables and flowers. At the same time we are struggling to open a general store, to success breed of fishes.

and strong bodily, sound in mind and good
in character.
• To take care of them that they may have good
and all-round education.
• To teach them that they may learn the value and
dignity of work.
• To teach them that they may become good
citizens and faithful to the country.
